Net Fastening Commision

Problem: My neighbor's dog kept jumping into the pool. Solution: Designed and printed a custom net fastening system with stabilizing bases. Networked with local bulk 3D-printing company. Communicated with client, adapted design to fit user needs, and delivered parts.

About Me

Hello! I'm Thalia Johnson, an engineering student at undefined interested in mechatronics. I create in all kinds of ways, and If there’s a skill I don’t have yet: I will learn it.

Currently, I’m a workshop officer for TidalTAMU, where I make beginner-friendly lessons on AI concepts such as agentic loops and how LLMs work. I’ve also completed Ignitor’s Rocketry’s mentorship program and was accepted onto both the Structures and Dynamics teams.

One of my biggest strengths is seeing how different parts of a system affect each other. How does adding user accounts change a game’s moderation system? How do a rocket’s fins affect its stability and overall design?

However, that strength sometimes leads to overengineering. I tend to prepare for problems that don’t exist yet, so I’ve been learning when a solution needs to be flexible and when it just needs to work.

I want to become a systems engineer because I naturally think about how everything fits together. If you’re looking for someone who can learn quickly, I’d love to talk.
